Drinking Games
Match Making
Number of players: 2-6
Setup: Remove either all of the red cards or all of the black card from
the deck. Place the remaining cards face down in the center of the playing
area. Arrange the cards into rows and columns, so that they do not overlap
each other.
Play: Players take turns trying to make matches: Two cards with the
same face value. For example, the two of diamonds matches the two of hearts.
A player starts a turn by flipping over one of the cards in the playing area.
Then he must select another card and flip it over. if the cards don't match
then he should turn both cards back over to their original positions. if they
do match then he can assign a drink to one of the other players. After assigning
a drink, then he can attempt to make another match. A turn ends when a player
is unable to make a match. Successfully matched cards should be removed from
the playing area.
A player is not allowed to turn over more than two cards at a time. if, at
any point during the game, a player makes the mistake of turning over extra
cards then he must take two drinks. The game endsd when all 13 matches have
been made.
Strategy Hints: To do well at this game, you should try to remember where
each specific card is placed when it is first turned over. Then, when you
stumble upon its match later in the game, you won't have to guess where you
saw the first card. Once way that you can aid your memory is by trying to
make an association between the card's value and its position. For example,
if you want to remember where the three of diamonds is, check to see if it
is the third card from any of the playing field edges. For larger numbered
cards, it may be easier to think of simple math calculations. For example,
if the ten of hearts is the second column and is the fifth card from the left
you should remember (2 X 5 = 10).
